Thank you for volunteering to help with Interfaith Hospitality Network!
This position is often filled by the Overnight Hosts (except on Saturday
when a hot breakfast is prepared).Week days this is a continental breakfast.
Breakfast Host Responsibilities:
1. Arrive at 6:00AM and check in with the Overnight Hosts.
2. Check breakfast sign up sheet to and prepare the items requested.
3. Make coffee. Heat water for tea, instant oatmeal, etc.
4. On Saturday, cook full hot breakfast for the guests and other volunteers.
5. Make sure guests take the lunches with them they made the night before.
6. Clean up dishes and kitchen.

GUIDELINES FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS:
• Enjoy yourself; we are entertaining guests in our Church home.
• Please wear a name tag to make it easier for the guests to
identify you.
• Strictly avoid labeling the guests with terms such as “homeless”
or any other grouping that could be hurtful. Focus on conversations
that pertain to current events, not personal history or current position.
• Be aware of and avoid potential hurtful reminders to the guests
of the things that they do not have.
• The schedule is not intended to be rigid – be flexible
and sensitive to special needs and opportunities.
• If physical violence is threatened, call 911, immediately,
without hesitation.
• If you observe child abuse, you must call 911.
• Do not give money to guests.
• Always follow the Uniform Health Code guidelines.
• Notify the Volunteer Coordinator of any problems or concerns.
• Guests are allowed access to:
• The kitchen
• The washer and dryer
• The Sanctuary
• Royster Hall
• The Library
• The basement sleeping quarters
• The gym
